Reassigning an Advisor

There are two ways that an advisor can be reassigned and the approach used will depend on the reason for the reassignment. Within this article, the term Selling Advisor refers to the advisor associated to a transaction, while Owning Advisor refers to the advisor associated to the investor.

Manual Reassignment

Within an investor's profile, the advisor of record can be modified by editing the profile and changing the selection in the "Advisor" drop-down menu. This allows the previous advisor to retain their active advisor status within the system.

Mass Reassignment

Some or all of an advisors investors can be reassigned to a new advisor(s). To create a reassignment batch navigate to the advisor's module and click the "Create Reassignment Batch".

You will then see a Reassignment Batches table, where you would see any current or past reassignments that have been created or completed.

*you can only have one active reassignment batch at a time.

To create a new reassignment batch click the "Create New Reassignment Batch" button.

Users will then have the option to define the "From Advisor" and if they so choose a "Default Reassignment Advsior". This Default Reassignment Advsior dropdown allows selecting a preset default Reassignment Advisor for all investors in the batch.
The default Reassignment Advisor can still be changed in the Reassignment Investors table prior to processing.

Click "Create Reassignment Batch"

*The system will show you the advisor name and the number of clients currently assigned to them

You will now see a new reassignment batch within the Reassignment Batches table, and you can review, adjust and complete the reassignment as required.

If you selected a Default Reassignment Advisor all of the investors will have this advisor as their "reassignment advisor". Users will have the option to edit this default if they so choose to a different advisor or choose not to include the investor within the reassignment batch.

When reviewing a Draft or Completed reassignment batch users can export a spreadsheet of the reassignment.

Once you are satisfied with your edits click start processing.
