The Trailer Template is a part of the Uploader Module and is a self-serving tool that can be used to upload Trailer transactions for existing investors.
Once the Uploader Module is activated you will notice a new module on the left side of your screen.
After selecting this tab, you will able to click on βDownload Templatesβ and select 'Trailer Template' in order to generate the Excel file that you will fill in with the information that you wish to upload.
The column headers in the template are listed below. Please note, it's required to enter information into each column.
Dealer Code
Selling Advisor Rep Code
Create Date
Trade Date
Settle Date
Reference Transaction #
$ amount of total trailer fee
DR Grid %
We have provided a more comprehensive explanation for each of these fields below:
Dealer Code
For users on Dealer Edge the Dealer Code can be added within the Company Details tab in the Admin Module.
For users on Issuer Edge, each Dealer in your system will be assigned a Dealer Code that can be added into this column.
Selling Advisor Rep Code
Every Advisor profile will have a rep code that can be added into this column.
The advisor rep code added in this column will populate the Selling Advisor field in the transaction. The Owning Advisor will be populated with the advisor that is on the profile.
Create Date
Please add the date in the yyyy-mm-dd format.
Trade Date
Please add the date in the yyyy-mm-dd format.
Settle Date
Please add the date in the yyyy-mm-dd format.
Reference Transaction #
Within this column the transaction # of the related Buy, Transfer In or New Position transaction type can be added. The system will be able to determine the investor, account and issuer/offering based on the related transaction.
A tip for finding this number is to create an Offering Securities Export as the column named Original Purchase Ref will output this number for each investor.
$ amount of total trailer fee
The total trailer amount is entered into this column. Do not add any symbols.
DR Grid %
Please note, the existing DR Grid % on the advisor profile will not be replaced. The value added into this column will only apply to the specific trailer transaction being uploaded.
Uploading process
After the template has been filled out with all the information that you wish to add you will be able to select Upload.
*Before uploading the template you should TRIM LEADING AND FOLLOWING SPACES
You will then be able to pick the status that you want the transactions to be in once they are added to the system. If none are selected, the transactions will be uploaded in Approved status by default.
Once a file is added it will automatically start the validation and uploading process. Please note, the allowable file extensions are xls, xlsx and csv. Also, the maximum file size that can be uploaded is 80MB.
Subsequently, you will be able to track the status of the upload until it is complete. Be advised that it may take several minutes to finish based on the size of the file. If there are any issues the errors will be recorded so that you can make the necessary amendments to the file before uploading it again.
Otherwise, the file will be uploaded successfully and the data will now be in your system.
